Cruisin' on Virgin Voyages: Scarlet Lady

The Scarlet Lady is the first ship from Richard Branson's new cruise line, Virgin Voyages. Designed for the modern traveler, the ship boasts innovative features and luxurious accommodations. From the moment you step on board, you'll be greeted with a warm welcome and a glass of champagne, setting the tone for a luxurious and carefree vacation.

I cannot say enough about what an amazing time we had on Virgin Voyages: Scarlet Lady! From when you walk into the Virgin Voyages Terminal V, you feel the chill easy-going vibe. There is probably a line to check-in, but it goes fast because they have about 30 people to check in "Sailors" and then we walked on to the ship - there was no waiting in the terminal for an hour or more.

When you walk on the ship, your room is ready and your luggage will be there very shortly. It is all very quick and easy.

We took the 5-Night Riviera Maya Cruise. While Kyle and I have never taken a gay cruise, this was the most inclusive cruise/cruise line I have ever been on. Everyone (Staff and Guests) was relaxed, friendly, accepting and non-dramatic.

We had a Sea Terrance room (balcony-equivalent), so of course, it comes with one of the hammocks that you have seen in the commercials. They are so comfortable, I know of several people, including myself that has fallen asleep while laying in the hammocks. I call them a "hug in mid-air".

Our first full day was at sea, and while I had a couple hours of Virgin Voyages training, Kyle hit the gym and a healthy snack afterwards. We then headed to the pool area to get some sun and relax on the high seas. It was beautiful!

Our second day was at Cozumel for our SNUBA excusion (imagine just walking underwater wearing "astronaut-like" helmets) - it was something I have been meaning to try and I was not disappointed! I felt like a human "Snork", from the Saturday morning cartoon!

Third day was at sea spent by the pool, drinking, chatting with other Sailors and relaxing before the event of the cruise - Scarlet Night!

Other cruises have a "White Party", but Virgin Voyages has a "Red Party" (aka Scarlet Night) and it was NOT to be missed.

The last full day was at their Virgin Voyages Beach Club, the real highlight of the trip. Located on the secluded island of Bimini, this private beach club is a paradise on earth. The club features a beautiful beach with soft white sand and crystal clear water, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or just relaxing in a hammock under the shade of a palm tree. Guests can also take advantage of the club's many amenities, including beachside cabanas, hammocks, lounge chairs, and pool.

A beach club and vibe torn right from Miami, complete with giant floats, many bars and staff for drinks and a DJ!

We met some incredible people there, but unfortunately, after all day in the sun - we were not able to meet up with them back on the ship - plus, there was the dreaded packing before getting off the ship in the morning.

If you thought embarkation was quick and easy, then you wil love the disembarkation even more. At one point, I stood there in disbelief that we were already outside to get an Uber to the airport.

The ship has plenty of dining options, including a 24 hr Galley, a steakhouse, Italian restaurant and a Mexican restaurant, all of which are included in the cost of the cruise. (Scroll through slideshow below)

The food was delicious and quite a few dishes were "elevated" to a gourmet level. If you are vegetarian, vegan or have any food allergies - they have you covered, as many dishes are already vegetarian and meat options are list under the "Nauti" listings.

Overall, a cruise on the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady and a day at the Beach Club in the Caribbean is an experience like no other. With luxurious accommodations, innovative dining options, and a private island oasis, this trip is sure to be one you'll never forget. So if you're looking for a unique and unforgettable vacation experience, book your trip on the Scarlet Lady today and prepare to be wowed.
